Draft First Film Proposal

This week we are going to start our own movie. It will be 3 to 5 minutes long and I will work with my pal johanna, who is an exchange student from Germany. This is our idea for the film:

Our topic is 'exchange students in school'. We hope we are able to include all the exchange students at Highland and to introduce them a little bit. Also we will show the everyday life at school of either Johanna or me, or maybe even of the both of us. The locations will be different places in school. We will have music and probably narration. It is supposed to be a serious film about the life as an exchange student.
We are a little bit concerned about getting the permission to film all of the classes and if all the exchange students can/want to participate in the movie. But I think it will be a lot of fun and I am looking forward to start filming.

Its Looks So Easy (Book Chapter One)

I just read the documentary film's book tittle " MAKING DOCUMENTARY FILMS AND REALITY VIDEOS " by Barry Hampe, and i'd say that book open my mind about the real definiton about documentary film. I always thought the making of documentary films is easy and simple, but after i read the book, i change my mind, it is really complex and full of specific details of many points that i never knew.
there are starting steps that we need to pay attention if we want to make a successful documentary film :
1. Good Footage
2. Idea, concept and point of view of the documentary.
3. it takes picture
4. structure.

and some people always missunderstood that a good films are depends on what kind of camera that you use ,but actually its depends on how skillful are you on handle the camera, the technique to produce wow factor on your films, yet appeal the audience. and one thing that you remember, good images just dont happen, which it means, we should really careful on starting our films with good starts and plan.
Documentary Genres :
- History And Biography
- Docudrama
- Documentaries Of behaviour
- Documentaries about emotion
in general, i would say ,this book is such a great guide book for amateur film maker like me.

Documentary Film

Capturing Reality is a documentary about documentaries. It’s about the people who make documentaries and the reason they make them. The film also examines the internal philosophies that impact how documentary filmmakers approach their films.
The target audience for Capturing Reality is small. For people interested in documentary films and the process of making documentary films, they will find this film interesting.

Director Pepita Ferrari is to be congratulated for the documentarians she interviewed for this film. They represent some of the very best behind-the-camera talent ever gathered together in one film. Through Ferrari’s interviews, we learn the inspiration and philosophies of some of the finest documentarians to ever pick up a camera. From that perspective, Capturing Reality is very interesting.
Pepita Ferrari's Capturing Reality: The Art of Documentary will certainly appeal to certain predisposed audiences, particularly film nerds and journalists, but her examination of how to tell both a good story and a true story is a timely and compelling work in an age rampant with suspicion of mass media and spin.
